The cost of going to Disney World for five days ranges from about $4,000 to $8,000, depending on the number of adults and kids. This cost includes admission to all the Disney World theme parks, water parks and sports options, car rental and souvenirs.

The cost of your vacation could be higher or lower depending on the level of resort hotel you choose and the type of meals.

For example, staying in a Deluxe Villa will cost over $1,000 per night, while staying in a Value Resort Hotel will cost anywhere from $170 per night. Additionally, opting for Signature Dining will cost over $250 per meal, while casual dining restaurant meals will cost anywhere from $34.99 per meal.

Finally, the cost of going to Walt Disney World will depend on your ticket type. For example, if you choose to visit one park per day, it’ll cost you about $797, while getting the flexibility to hop from one park to another will add a few bucks to the total cost.

Walt Disney World ticket costs

If you want to visit one theme park per day, then you’ll take the one-park-per-day ticket. But if you want to visit multiple theme parks, you can take the Park Hopper ticket that allows you to visit multiple theme parks after 2 PM.

If you also want to visit the water parks after 2 PM, then take the Park Hopper Plus ticket.

Below is a breakdown of the Walt Disney World ticket costs.

One-Park, One-Day Ticket: $109 to $189 + tax

The One-Park, One-Day Ticket lets you into one of the four theme parks for one day. The ticket, however, doesn’t cover water parks or other activities.

Theme park ticket prices vary from $109 to $189 per person, as shown below.

• Magic Kingdom: $124-189
• Hollywood Studios: $124-$179
• Animal Kingdom: $109-$159
• EPCOT: $114-$179

Note that date-based tickets will need a reservation until January 9, 2024. After that, a reservation won’t be needed.

Park Hopper Option: $218 to $252 + tax

The Park Hopper Option lets you explore multiple theme parks in a day. After 2 PM, you can hop between parks with this option. However, this ticket will not give you access to the two water parks.

This add-on previously cost between $65 to $85 per day.

But currently, the price changes based on the day.

For example, December prices currently range from $233 to $252 + tax per ticket, while January prices range from $218 to $248 + tax per ticket.

When using the Park Hopper Option, you’ll need to make a reservation for the first park you intend to visit before 2 PM. For example, you may make a reservation for Animal Kingdom. After visiting Animal Kingdom, you’ll not be required to make a reservation for the next park you visit after 2 PM.

If you plan to hop between the remaining three theme parks, pay attention to the parks’ closing times. Generally, the Walt Disney World theme parks close between 6 PM and 9.30 PM. The specific time depends on the date. You can check each park’s closing time for your vacation dates here. You’ll also see each park’s scheduled parades, nighttime shows, fireworks, and events.

You also need to check the parks’ availability here when choosing the Park Hopper Option. According to Walt Disney World, a park’s availability is subject to the park’s capacity limitations.

Park Hopper Plus Option: $238 to $272 + tax

The Park Hopper Plus Option allows you to hop between the four theme parks after 2 PM and also access the water parks and sports options, including:

• Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park
• Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
• ESPN Wide World of Sports
• Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course
• 1 round of mini-golf at Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course (before 4 PM)

The Park Hopper Plus Option previously cost $85 to $105 per ticket.

But currently, the price changes based on the date.

For popular days, the ticket could cost $272 + tax, while on slow days, it could cost $238 + tax per ticket.

Before buying this option, check if the water parks will be open during your vacation dates.

With the Park Hopper Plus Option, you only get as many admissions as the number of days on your ticket. For example, if you purchase a 4-day Park Hopper Plus ticket, you get 4 admissions to any of the water parks.

Water Park Tickets: $64 to $79

If you love water activities, then you may opt for the Water Park Ticket. This ticket offers you daily access to Disney’s Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, whichever is open.

You can get this ticket at $64 to $79 for adults. For kids aged 3 to 9, you’ll pay $58 to $73. Kids younger than three don’t need tickets.

You don’t need to make a reservation for Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach.

Special Event Tickets: from $149

After spending the day at a theme park, you can spend part of the night at an event at Walt Disney World. The Resort offers occasional events like Disney After-Hours or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party that take place from 7 PM to midnight.

Special Event Ticket prices for these events vary by date. Generally, you can expect to pay these amounts for Special Events at Walt Disney World:

• Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom: $149 to $199
• Disney After Hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: $155
• Disney After Hours at EPCOT: $149

Note that you won’t need a theme park reservation or theme park ticket to enter the park from 7 PM or later. Additionally, some event tickets may grant you access to select attractions at the theme park.

Annual Passes: $439 to $1,449 + tax

Purchasing an Annual Pass at Walt Disney World will cost you around $1,449 plus tax per year. It gives you the privilege to access the parks more frequently, with some block-out dates. Plus, it allows you to hop between parks after 2 PM. These annual passes are the Disney Incredi Pass, which is available to all guests, and 3 more available to Florida residents.

Disney World Transportation and Parking Costs

If you bring your car and are not a guest at a resort hotel, you can pay for parking at any theme park. Fortunately, paying for a parking pass in one theme park allows you to park at any other theme park at no extra cost for that day.

Disney Resort Hotels’ guests get free self-parking at the hotels and free transportation to and from all theme parks by bus, boat, or monorail.

Below are different transportation options from the Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Disney World:

• Uber or Lyft: $35 to $90, depending on the car size, type, and demand.

• Mears Connect: $17.60 to $250, depending on the type of service. 

• Taxi: $50 to $70

• Rental Vehicle: $30 to $250 per day or more, depending on the type of car and rental provider. You can use Disney’s official car rental, Alamo® Rent A Car. With this option, you also need to budget about $30 to $50 per day for gas.

Disney World Parking Costs: $30 to $55

As previously mentioned, Walt Disney World Resort Hotels guests get complimentary standard self-parking and overnight parking.

The Disney resorts eligible for the standard parking include:

• All the Disney Value Resort Hotels
• All Disney Moderate Resort Hotels
• All Disney Deluxe Hotels and Deluxe Villas
• Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground

Disney Vacation Club members also get complimentary parking at the DVC resort hotels or villas.

While Disney hotel guests and annual pass holders have no obligation to pay standard parking fees, they can opt for preferred parking, which adds $15 to $25 per day to their package.  

If you’re staying outside the Disney World hotels, you must pay a standard fee of $30 per day for a car or motorcycle. You may also choose the preferred parking fee of $45 to $55 per day.

Oversized vehicles like RVs pay a $35 daily parking fee. While staying off-site, also consider transportation charges.

All parking fees cover all four theme parks per day.

Disney World Dining

Disney Dining Plan

Disney offers two dining options that you pay as part of the accommodation package:

Both the expensive and cheap vacation budgets include admission to all theme and water parks at Walt Disney World. Each price also includes accommodation in a Disney Resort Hotel and a car rental picked from (and dropped at) the Orlando International Airport.

We chose the Park Hopper Plus option for both budgets because of the freedom it gives. With this ticket, you can choose to have all your meals at EPCOT. Hence the need for a car to drive around at your pleasure.

Note that you can always upgrade from a standard ticket to the Park Hopper Plus option. So we recommend getting the Park Hopper Plus option on an as-needed basis.

Freedom is the same reason we chose not to use Disney Dining Plans. You don’t want to be in a rush to go to a scheduled dinner during a vacation! You only need to make your reservation and dine at whatever time you wish. Of course, a restaurant’s availability depends on its schedule. So be sure to check the hotel hours.
